34th Circuit Court
Circuit Court is the trial court of general jurisdiction for the 34th Judicial Circuit. It is the court of jurisdiction for all civil actions, claims and remedies within the county except for matters handled by the 82nd District or Probate Court.

82nd District Court
The District Court, which was established by the Michigan Legislature in 1968 pursuant to constitutional mandate, has more citizen contact than any other court in our judicial system.

Probate
Probate Court has jurisdiction in matters relating to the settlement of estates, execution of wills, appointment of guardians and conservators to minors and adults, commitment of persons determined to be mentally ill, and the issuance of secret marriage licenses.

Prosecuting Attorney
The office of Prosecuting Attorney was established by provision of the Michigan constitution and is responsible for the prosecution of all violations of state criminal law within the county. The Prosecuting Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer and represents the county in all criminal/civil matters.
