Double-Crested Cormorant count
Public assistance is needed to count the number of double-crested cormorant groups in
Roscommon County. These birds are large and black with orange beaks and can have a significant impact on fisheries in the area. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources needs to get an idea of where groups of these birds are. Below is the contact information to send the data to. If you see one in flight, at roost or feeding. please note:
- How many
- What was it doing? Flying – feeding – roosting
- Where (specifically) was it/they sighted? Please be as specific as possible. What township? near what road? on or near a specific body of water?
