The Roscommon County Board of Commissioner’s met on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 for a regular meeting.  Chairman Nellist called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M.

 

Roll call:  Nellist, Melvin, Schneider, Milburn, Stephan.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

            1.         Moved by Schneider, seconded by Milburn to approve the agenda

                        as presented.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Stephan, Milburn, Schneider,

                        Melvin, Nellist.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

Review of Monthly Reports – Jail, E-911; Animal Control; 

 

Pat Marshall, Housing Director gave year end report.

 

            2.         Moved by Schneider, seconded by Stephan to approve a 3% wage increase

                        for E-911 POAM union employees for the year 2009 with retroactive

                        wages upon signing of contract.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Schneider, Nellist,

                        Stephan.  Nays:  Melvin, Milburn.  Motion carried.

 

            3.         Moved by Milburn, seconded by Melvin to appropriate $1875.00 from the

                        2008 budget and $1875.00 from the 2009 budget for the Houghton Lake

                        Chamber of Commerce.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Schneider, Stephan, Nellist,

                        Melvin, Milburn.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

 

            4.         Moved by Melvin, seconded by Nellist to provide letter to State of

                        Michigan stating County of Roscommon is aware and approves of

                        Michigan Works!   Region 7B Consortium subleasing to the State of

                        Michigan Rehabilitation Services.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Stephan, Milburn,

                        Schneider, Melvin, Nellist.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

 

            5.         Moved by Milburn, seconded by ____________to approve retired Road

                        Commissioner, Larry Mead and current Road Commissioner George

                        Pappas to receive a single subscriber supplemental medical health care

                        plan with a closed prescription formulary with funding coming from Road

                        Commission funds.  No other benefits such as dental, optical or flex

                        dollars are included.  FAILED FOR LACK OF SUPPORT.

Melvin – MI Works – unemployment.  Union Contract E-911.  Economic Development.

Nellist – Planning Commission. Master Plan for County Enforcement Meeting.  Sting.

Public Comment-Commissioner Stephan would like to have Chuck Meibeyer to be at a

meeting to talk about the motion that was made while he was in office regarding

insurance for Roscommon County Road Commission.

 

            6.         Moved by Milburn, seconded by Schneider to adjourn meeting.  On roll

                        call:  Ayes:  Nellist, Melvin, Schneider, Milburn, Stephan.
