The Roscommon County Board of Commissioner’s met on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 for a regular meeting.  Chairman Mead called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M.

 

Roll Call:  Ayes:  Nellist, Mead, Smolarz, Milburn, Souder.

            1.         Moved by Smolarz, seconded by Souder to approve the agenda with

                        motion #4 withdrawn.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Nellist, Mead, Smolarz,
                        Milburn, Souder.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

 

Controller’s Report – RAP Grant, Budget & Finance Update-Award Furnace Bids at Airport Committee Meeting, COA rent, EON Negotiation – mediation Maximus.

John Bawol introduced Bob Collison, new assistant emergency management position.

 

            2.         Moved by Milburn, seconded by Nellist to appoint Bob Collison to the

                        Assistant Emergency Management Position with a  salary of $1,800.00

                        per year effective immediately.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Smolarz, Souder,

                        Mead, Nellist, Milburn.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

 

Pat Marshall introduced her Assistant Director, Laura MacKillop and her Housing Board, Joan Murphy, Virginia Otto, Nancy Walsh, and Sally Terwilliger.  Jerry McCormick was

missing.  Pat also gave an update on Housing Program – ESG-Grant approved.  MEPS Grant has been approved for $15,420.00 one year.  PIP Plus COB Grant Fund Roscommon County

to administer this program state wide, a ¼ million grant.

 

            3.         Moved by Smolarz, seconded by Souder to enter into the contract with

                        Industrial Disposal, Inc. for the disposal of leachate at a rate of .07 per

                        gallon beginning on April 12, 2007 through April 12, 2008 and authorize

                        Chairman Larry D. Mead and Vice Chairman, Jim Smolarz to sign.  On

                        roll call:  Ayes:  Nellist, Mead, Smolarz, Milburn, Souder.  Nays:  None.

                        Motion carried.

 

            4.         Moved by Nellist, seconded by Smolarz to approve budget adjustments for

                        the Juvenile Diversion Officer (General Fund) and Road Patrol (Special

                        Fund) as presented.  These adjustments are due to the Gerrish-Higgins

                        School District eliminating their funding of their school resource officer.

                        On roll call:  Ayes:  Souder, Smolarz, Mead, Nellist.  Nays:  Milburn.

                        Motion carried.

 

            5.         Moved by Mead, seconded by Smolarz to appoint Jim Smolarz, Ed Nellist,

                        Cheryl Mollard and Ron Eno to the Security Guard Committee.  On roll

                        call:  Ayes:  Nellist, Souder, Milburn, Smolarz, Mead.  Nays:  Nnne.

                        Motion carried.

 

            6.         Moved by Smolarz, seconded by Mead to approve Resolution for Gerald

                        Wojtylko who has faithfully served the County of Roscommon for 25

                        years as presented and authorize all Commissioner’s to sign.

 

RESOLUTION

 

                        Gerald Wojtylko has faithfully served the County of Roscommon for 25

                        years.  His years of dedicated service reflects his sense of duty as well as

                        a sincere commitment to our community.

 

                        BE IT RESOLVED that the Roscommon County Board of Commissioner’s

                        honors Gerald Wojtylko for his many years of serving and caring for the

                        citizens of Roscommon County.

 

                        Resolution passed this 28th day of March, 2007.

 

                        On roll call:  Ayes:  Milburn, Souder, Nellist, Mead, Smolarz.  Nays:  None.

                        Motion carried.

 

Public Comment

 

Lt. Steve LeMire presented the Commissioner’s with a letter of understanding regarding

reduction of work hours between the Sheriff, Roscommon County, and the Command

Officer’s Association.

Deputy Paul Roth presented the Commissioner’s with a letter of understanding regarding reduction of work hours between the Sheriff, Roscommon County, and the Deputy Sheriff’s

Association.

 

Ron Eno updated the commissioner’s on the new courthouse.  The drywall is going up.

 

            7.         Moved by Milburn, seconded by Nellist to adjourn meeting.  On roll call:

                        Ayes:  Nellist, Mead, Smolarz, Milburn, Souder.  Nays:  None.  Motion

                        carried.
