The Roscommon County Board of Commissioner’s met on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 for a regular meeting.  Chairman Mead called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M.

 

Roll call:  Nellist, Mead, Smolarz, Milburn, Pacella.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Also Present:  Randy Stevenson, Under Sheriff;  April Ochoa, Candidate, Dist.1;  Tula Alexander, ;  Lois Byrd, Higgins Lake Roscommon Chamber of Commerce;  Joe Faino,

Candidate District 5 Commissioner;  Lowell Souder, Candidate District 5 Commissioner;

Bill Ancel;  John Meyer;  Deryl Brown, Candidate Dist. 3;  Carolyn Moore, R.C.C.O.A.;

Pam Stephan, Candidate, Dist. 5.

 

            1.   Moved by Smolarz, seconded by Nellist to approve the agenda.  On roll call:

                  Ayes:  Pacella, Milburn, Smolarz, Mead, Nellist.  Nays:  None.  Motion

                  carried.

 

            2.   Moved by Pacella, seconded by Milburn to approve minutes from June 14,

                  2006 and June 28, 2006 as presented.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Mead, Nellist,

                  Smolarz, Milburn, Pacella.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

 

            3.   Moved by Pacella, seconded by Milburn to approve Class A Bills.  On roll

                  call:  Ayes:  Nellist, Mead, Smolarz, Milburn, Pacella.  Nays: None.  Motion

                  carried.

 

            4.   Moved by Nellist, seconded by Smolarz to approve Claims & Accounts.  On

                  roll call:  Ayes:  Milburn, Pacella, Mead, Nellist, Smolarz.  Nays:  None.      

                  Motion carried.

 

            5.   Moved by Pacella, seconded by Nellist to approve Treasurer’s report dated

                  June 30, 2006 as presented.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Smolarz, Mead, Milburn,

                  Pacella, Nellist.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

John Meyers gave an update on construction of new court building. 

Tim McQuire from Michigan Association of Counties informed the commissioners about legislation for the past year.

April Ochoa reminded everyone about Meet the Candidate on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 5:00 P.M.

 

            6.   Moved by Pacella, seconded by Milburn to approve Agreement between the

                  State of Michigan Department of Corrections and Roscommon County, for

                  the Comprehensive Correction Plan for residential services in the amount of

                  up to $36,492.00 as presented and authorize Larry D. Mead, Chairman to sign.

                  On roll call:  Ayes:  Smolarz, Nellist, Mead, Milburn, Pacella.  Nays:  None.

                  Motion carried.

 

            7.   Moved by Smolarz, seconded by Pacella to adjourn meeting.  On roll call:
