The Roscommon County Board of Commissioner’s met on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 for a regular meeting.  Chairman Mead called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M.

 

Roll Call:  Pacella, Milburn, Smolarz, Mead, Nellist.

 

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Also Present:  Lois W. Byrd, Higgins Lake Roscommon Chamber of Commerce;  Herb Weatherly;  Lowell Souder, Candidate District 5;  Glenn Schicker, H. L. Resorter:

Bill Ancel;  Randy Stevenson, Under Sheriff;  Fran Staley, Sheriff;  John Bawol, E-911 Director;  Pat Marshall, Housing Director;  Joe Faino, Candidate District 5;  Pam Stephan, Candidate District 5;  Deryl Brown, Candidate District 3;

 

            1.   Moved by Smolarz, seconded by Milburn to approve the Agenda.  On roll

                  call:  Ayes:  Smolarz, Mead, Nellist, Milburn, Pacella.  Nays:  None.  Motion

                  carried.

 

Public Comment

 

Cheryl Mollard spoke regarding Community Centers and Furnace Bids.  She also

mentioned that PPOM Negotiations began on Monday.

 

Review of Monthly Reports:  Animal Control;  E-911;

 

Correspondence

 

            A.   DEQ – Land & Water Mangagement

                   Re:  Public Notices-Proposed culvert project.

            B.   Northern Lakes Comm. Mental Health.

                   Re:  Resolution for Parity.

 

            2.   Moved by Pacella, seconded by Smolarz to approve Audit presented by Jim

                  Anderson for the year ending December 31, 2005.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Nellist,

                  Mead, Smolarz, Milburn, Pacella.  Nays:  None.  Motion carried.

 

            3.   Moved by Smolarz, seconded by Pacella to accept recommendation of the

                  Budget and Finance Committee to accept bid from Preston Heating for the

                  replacement furnaces for the St. Helen and Roscommon Community Centers.

                  On roll call:  Ayes:  Milburn, Smolarz, Mead, Nellist, Pacella.  Nays:  None.

                  Motion carried.

 

            4.   Moved by Nellist, seconded by Mead to appoint Cheryl Mollard as Officer

                  Delegate and Ron Eno as Officer Alternate for the 2006 Annual MERS

                  Meeting.  On roll call:  Ayes:  Smolarz, Mead, Nellist, Milblurn, Pacella.

 

Public Comment

 

Larry Mead presented Ron Eno with shovel from ground breaking with plaque and

showed shovel that will be displayed in Courthouse with plaque.

 

            5.   Moved by Mead, seconded by Nellist to adjourn meeting.  On roll call:

                  Ayes:  Mead, Nellist, Milburn, Smolarz, Pacella.  Nays:  None.  Motion

                  carried.
